Preaching on his days off and working with the Boxcars, Bowman has had a year full of opportunities.
With rich experience in and around the music industry, John Bowman has recently released his newest album titled “Worship Him.” The album features just him and his guitar, showcasing his raw talent.
“I’ve been going out doing some preaching, and when I’ve been preaching and singing it was usually just me and a guitar. I’ve always wanted to do a record like that, so I decided to recreate on CD what I’ve been doing at these revivals and preaching dates. The theme is always about worshiping God, so I titled the album, “Worship Him.” There are some new songs that people haven’t heard, several of them are pretty obscure, and I’ll bet 90% will be new to bluegrass listeners,” Bowman told Bluegrass Today.
Since its release, Bowman’s album has debuted in the Singing News chart at number 17 and the Southern Gospel Chart at number 153.
“I’m very excited about this. I hope to see the song break into the top 80 and praying for the top 40! I know this seems vain in nature, but to me it is a sign that people are hearing the music God has put into my heart,” Bowman said.
Recently, John Bowman has decided to go into full-time ministry. His heart is to preach the word of God and use the gift of music for His will.
“Over the past year and a half, the Lord has given me unique opportunities to sing and preach all over the country. I know I have been called to do a work for God and I am ready to do it! I ask that all of you pray for the ministry. I have been blessed to have so many kind folks ask me how they can get me to their church or function. Just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I am so excited at what God is doing, and I look forward to coming to your area to minister. God bless and be with you,” Bowman said.
